The rules that follow apply to all aspects of these forums. In no way shape of form can these rules be altered by an RP, story, or other creative work. There is no exception to these rules, not even when applied to myself or other leaders of the Moderator team.
Rule One: The One About the Forums
ProBoards has it's own specific set of rules that all people when joining a forums or creating must be applied. As such, all those rules apply here. A full list of rules, regulations, and guidelines can be found here. These rules are not to be broken under any circumstance as well. Breaking this rule will result in a suspension or permanent ban depending on the severity.
Rule Two: The One About this Forum
We cannot control what happens on other forums. We cannot control what others do on other forums. As such, the rules listed are applied onto here. HOWEVER, there will be some exceptions to this rule (this is based off of rules that other forums have). The consequences for this rule will vary from case to case.
Rule Three: The One About Messaging/PMs
All rules listed will 100% be applied to Private Messaging. This includes graphic content such as gore or sexual themes. Not only do they go against the rules laid out below, they go against ProBoards's community guidelines (link listed above). Breaking this rule will result in a suspension or ban depending on the amount or detail of the graphic content.
Rule Four: The One About Bullying
Under no circumstances is it ok to bully someone. No fighting, name calling, or insults will be tolerated. We are all friends here. There should be no reason for any pettiness. Depending on the level of insults and the amount of fighting, it can range from a warning to suspension.
Rule Five: The One About Language
No foul language, curse words, or slurs. This is including graphic detail/detail of sexual content or gore. This website is PG-13 and nothing more. You should not need to go into detail anyway. It goes against the terms and conditions of joining ProBoards, community guidelines, and this forum's rules. Breaking this rule will result in a warning to suspension to a ban should the language be deemed vile enough.
Rule Six: The One About Maturity
As stated above, this website is PG-13! No higher in any circumstance including written or drawn. This means no detailed sexual themes or gore. You don't need it to get your point across. Once again, it goes against terms and conditions, community guidelines, and this forum's rules. This does not mean you can't state that characters are making out or that there is blood coming from a wound. Heavily detailed will be not allowed. Breaking this rule will result in a warning followed by suspension.
Rule Seven: The One About Cheating
Don't try to by-pass an censored words. There is no reason for you to be using those words to begin with since all censored words go against Rules Five and Six. Breaking this rule will result in a warning along with the punishment of choice from the broken rule.
Rule Eight: The One that Made it Personal
No personal information should be publicly shared, especially if the information is not yours! If you share personal information that is not yours, it will result in an immediate suspension or ban depending on the information shared. However, if you absolutely have to share your own personal information, do it privately at your own risk. Do not share information if you feel pressured to. If you are, contact the moderator team or myself.
Rule Nine: The One About Multiple Yous
You don't need to make multiple accounts. There is no reason for it. You don't need one as a backup nor do you need another to RP. Creating multiple accounts will have them deleted. If a banned members makes a new account, that new account will also be banned and deleted.
Rule Ten: The One About Spam
Spamming is annoying, useless, and all-over disrespectful. There is no reason to spam or advertise for anything to a degree were you are disrupting actual content. Anything marked as spam will more than likely be deleted. Breaking this rule varies from warnings to suspension to deleting your account (the last is for accounts that join and start advertising for something).
Rule Eleven: The One About the Trolls
Once again, there is no reason to troll. We are all friends here. It is disrespectful and rude. Not to mention rather annoying. If your account was created just to troll, it will more than likely be deleted. Breaking this rule will vary from warning to deletion of account.
Rule Twelve: The One About Moderators
Do not pretend or impersonate Moderators or myself (the admin). Moderators are here for a reason. If you need us, contact us. There is no reason to pretend to be one or claim to be one. If you are having problems, tell us. Or, contact us if someone is claiming to be a moderator. Moderators and myself (the admin) are clearly stated. Breaking this rule varies from a warning to suspension.
Rule Thirteen: The One About Pirates
No Pirated or Illegal download links at all are allowed. There are too many legality problems to be involved in. If one is posted, the post will be deleted and the person will receive a warning followed by a suspension should it happen again. We don't want it and it isn't needed.
Rule Fourteen: The One About Images
No pictures posted or created should have sexual content or gore. As it is with text, so it shall be with images. Blood (wounds, bleeding, etc.) and kissing are fine once again. Also, copyright images are not allowed. We don't need to jump into that legal minefield as well. If the creators allows you to publicly share it, provide a link to them and their content (with the permission of being allowed to post as well). Breaking this rule will result in a warning, suspension, or possible ban depending on the content.
Extension: Please do not use .gifs as signatures! You can use them for avatars but not signatures. While I will not ban images in signatures, keep it to a minimum. It can slow the download of the forums.
Rule Fifteen: The One About Themes
There are banned themes on this forum. Human themes such as sexual abuse, slavery, self-harm or suicide, illegal drugs, alcoholism, or forced sexual activity is not allowed. Period. Creature themes such as "dog fights" (forcing creatures to fight one another to survive), animal testing (performing cruel testing to change the creature), animal mills (forcing animals to breed to sell their babies like puppy mills), or forced sexual activity is not allowed. Period. While a character may have something similar as a back story (i.e. - Maximum Ride), it is not to be explain in detail. Breaking this rule will result in a long-term suspension or ban depending on the severity.
Rule Sixteen: The One About Reporting
We encourage people to report if someone has broken a rule. We don't know it has happened if you don't report it. There is no punishment for reporting, and the person that has reported will remain anonymous. However, crying "Wolf!" (or excessive reporting for no reason) will be frowned upon and (if excessive enough) could result in a warning.
Rule Seventeen: The One About Repeat Offenders
Those that continue to break the rule(s) even after warnings and suspensions will result in their account being banned and possibly deleted. Breaking a rule twice will result in a harsher punishment compared to the first time. Breaking a rule a third time will result in the account being banned or suspended. A fourth time will result in the account being banned. By that time, you should have learned your lesson. As such, if the rule(s) broken are severe enough, you might not have three chances.
Rule Eighteen: The One About the Rules
All rules are subject to change. At any point in time, rules can be changed or added. This is in order to adapt to the times or close any loopholes. Exploited loopholes can result in a warning up to suspension depending on the severity. If a rule is added or changed, it will be marked with the date of when it was added/changed and with a forum announcement.
Rule Nineteen: The One About the Exceptions
Moderators or myself can send out warnings, suspensions, or bans even if it does not not directly break a rule. If this is to occur, the rules will be looked over and modified.
Curious as to why some of the rules are in place? Maybe you have a question or want to add one. Please make sure to post in the Rules section. We will be able to answer there! Thanks!
